Hello everyone! Thank you for participating in the Coastal Cleaning event, it means a lot to your community and to the world.
Here are some facts that you will find very interesting, and you will see how TEAM WORK does WORK!
Here I am wearing a purple hat!
- 2,700 volunteers helped clean beaches and many other places, in all 5 municipalities of Baja California.
- 7,300 Kilograms of trash were picked up and put into sacs. This means more than 7 tons!
However, this event took place in all countries of the world, and here are the results:
2015 Report
An astounding 560,000 volunteers in 91 countries picked up more than 16 million pounds of trash in our International Coastal Cleanup.
So you see, if people work together great things can be accomplished.
Here is a game that you might enjoy with your classmates or at home with your family. It can only work if all of you play together and organize yourselves, helping each other.
I think it would be fun if you can come up with activities where everyone is your classroom can participate in. You could divide yourselves into small teams even.

Hi Miss Lilian, we were very happy to have the opportunity to participate in this event, our children were very sad about all the trash they found, but at the same time they were very happy to help. It was the best activity to practice our value of the month “teamwork”.

Buen día, mi hija estuvo muy contenta participando en este evento, estaba emocionada de que su equipo recolectara tanta basura, su primo, su papi y yo les agradecemos invitarnos a esta labor. Ella es nueva en la escuela y le fascina; fué la mejor decisión que tomamos al inscribirla en BAI. Es una niña plena, feliz y le encanta todo lo relacionado al Colegio. Cuando le pregunto al recogerla, cómo fue su día, ella dice “Grandioso mami, grandioso”….!!!!!!!!

Hello Miss Lilian, We are very happy to have shared the Coastal Cleaning event with you , and to see you here in our school ! Thanks to this event some of my students said that they had fun and that they liked helping clean the beach. Thank you for making this events so we can become conscious about what our world should look like and how can we make it better.

Hello Miss Lilian,
It was a wonderful activity for children to acknowledge how humans affect the environment, but also to appreciate how much we can achieve together. They noticed what a difference two hours of our lives made. We had lots of fun. Some children even felt like they were in a treasure hunt helping! Regards, Miss Alma.

We are amazed on how those numbers add up. The children that participated are very happy to know that they formed part of such an amazing task.
Can’t wait to work with the spaghetti and marshmallows, we will take pictures. They are making their own teams and are going to organize themselves.

El evento de la Limpieza Costera, fue una experiencia muy agradable para nosotras y nuestras hijas!!! El poder transmitirles la responsabilidad social de cuidar nuestro planeta y contribuir un poco a tener un mundo mejor.
El trabajo en equipo es una característica en BAI. El video de la pasta y bombones es un claro ejemplo del valor del mes que estamos practicando en el colegio.

British American Institute, siempre en busca de un planeta mejor.
Esta actividad que se ha promovido en varias ocasiones es muy importante para nuestros alumnos.
Cambiar la idea de cuidar la playa, pasar de una actividad extraordinaria a una responsabilidad constante, agacharte y recoger tu basura y no esperar el día del evento, eso es lo que queremos lograr. Una cultura de cuidar el lugar que habitas.

Excelente actividad para enseñar a los niños que el trabajo en equipo puede rendir muy buenos frutos, asi como el cuidar el medio ambiente! Fascinada Pamela y nosotros sus papas en colaborar siempre para mejorar nuestro entorno de cualquier manera posible.!! 👌👍

Dear Miss Lilian,
Thank you very much for the blog post. Unfortunately, none of 6B know how much rubbish they collected on the beach. I (with Mrs Kay and Nikos) managed 3kg.
However, I am now beinjg inundated with requests to try building with marshmallows and spaghetti. I will tell you later if it was a success.

Participar en la limpieza costera fue una experiencia muy linda para Sofía, se divirtió cooperando con otros niños, aprendió sobre el medio ambiente y ahora es toda una policía cuidando a las personas que tiran basura en la calle. Muy agradecidas de ser parte de tan noble causa!

Hi !! I was very happy to contribute and be part of the coastal clean up, sadly only one student of our class went, so we will continue to talk about this and practice teamwork.
We will be doing the activity of the video soon, we will send photos and our feedback.

Only one?! That’s terrible! Tell them I’m VERY disappointed. I know it’s their parents who have to take them but the students should insist like they do when they want to go somewhere fun!
